I am in the cast of Eve Ensler’s (editor of the Vagina Monologues) latest collection of monologues called A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, A Prayer at UW. I think it really overcomes some of the limitation of the VMs – including male voices, moving into different kinds of violence. There are two performances Monday March 22nd at 8pm in AL124, and Tuesday March 23rd 8pm Hagey Hall rm 180.
I am playing Friday March 26th at the Grad Lounge for the WUSC (World University Services Canada) fundraiser show, after the Radical Choir sings at Wilfs for Jammin for Anti-Racism.
Saturday March 27th I am competing in a poetry slam at UW from 2-5pm in the SLC multipurpose room.
Later in the day at 5:30 I am going to sing a bit for the EcoHawks Earth Hour all day event at Laurier. Weather-permitting it’s in the outdoor ampitheatre thinger in the quad.
AND, I made it to the finals of a songwriters competition in Woodstock for 104.7 Heart Fm, a local radio station. Very exciting! Polly told me about it and drove me there, weee thanks Polly! The top 3 of 5 finalists get cash prizes, and something about recording a song that will play on the station. The finals are on Monday March 29th, in Woodstock.
The next night, Tuesday March 30th, I will be performing at a different songwriter competition at UW’s Grad House. I am slated to perform at 8:30pm. 3 songs.
April 14th I am opening at the Boathouse for Wilmott Red and the Sauce. Yay!
If you would like to come out and listen that would be super duper.
All of this in the midst of paper/exam season. Eeee. I hope I can make it all work out.
